జెనీవా: చారిత్రక ప్రాధాన్యం గల హైదరాబాద్ వజ్రం జెనీవా వేలం పాటలో 9.7 మిలియన్ల అమెరికా డాలర్లు పలికింది. ఇది రూ. 50 కోట్ల విలువ ఉంటుందని అంచనా. తరం నుంచి తరానికి మారుతూ ఆ వజ్రం ఐరోపా రాజవంశానికి చేరింది. చారిత్రకమైన గోల్కొండ నగరానికి చెందిన బుయో సాన్సీ వజ్రం జెనీవా వేలం పాటలకు వచ్చింది.

1610లో నాలుగో హెన్రీ 35 క్యారట్ల ఆ వజ్రాన్ని ఆయన సహవాసి మేరీ డీ మేడిసి ధరించారు. సోత్ బై వేలం పాటలో ఈ వజ్రాన్ని ఉంచారు. ఇది అత్యంత అరుదైన, అత్యంత సుందరమైన వజ్రమని సోత్‌బై ఇండియా డైరెక్టర్ మైథిలీ పరేఖ్ అన్నారు. గోల్కొండ నగరం పరిసరాల్లోని గనుల్లోనే ఈ వజ్రం జనించి ఉంటుందని అన్నారు. హోప్, కోహినూర్, రీజెంట్ వజ్రాల స్థాయి దీనికి ఉంటుందని భావిస్తున్నారు.

సోత్‌బై వేలం పాటలో ఐదుగురు ఆ వజ్రం కోసం పోటీ పడినట్లు తెలుస్తోంది. వీరు మూడు వేర్వేరు ఖండాలకు చెదినవారని తెలుస్తోంది. దాన్ని ఓ వ్యక్తి కొనుగోలు చేశాడు. అయితే, అతను ఎవరనేది తెలియడం లేదు.

1st World Telugu History Conference on Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th
July 2012 at British Library , London from 10:00 am to 05:00 pm.

UKTA (United Kingdom Telugu Association) based at London in proposes to organized First
World Telugu History Conference, for 2 days during Saturday 14th & Sunday 15th July,
2012 at British Library, London to initiate action plan at International level to compile a
Comprehensive History of the Telugu People.
This is the right time to convene the above conference in the backdrop of the hoary past of
the Telugu People and Antiquity of the Telugu Language and in the light of the recent
developments in acquiring Classical Languages status for Telugu. In order to cull out many
hidden facets of History and Culture of the Telugu People, it is felt to create a forum involve
experts and scholars in various fields to discuss on different issues to fill the gaps and voids
in the long time of Andhra history.

The proposed conference aims at :

a) Drafting an action plan for compiling a comprehensive History of the Telugu people (by
providing the ancient history and the antiquity of the Telugu language.
b) Conducting researches on archaeological artifacts and archival materials available at
British Museum and British Library, London in order to collect valuable data on Telugu
Language, Literature, Culture and Traditions.
c) Taking up special studies on the contribution of the Britishers in retrieving and
preserving the history of the Telugu people.
d) Conducting special workshops on the contribution of British scholars like Francis White
Ellis, Colnel Colin Mackenzie, Fergusson, Robert Bruce Forte, H.B. Foote, Longhurst,
Alexander Rea, F.R. Allchion, Boswell, Robert Sewell, Meadows Taylor, Edgor Thurston,
Alexander Campbell, William Carry, Caldwe, Prof. Halden, Will Durant , Charles Brown , Sir
Arthur Cotton etc.
e) Bring out publication on the researches conducted by the Britishers in the field of
Archaeology whose records are available in British Museum and other offices.
f) Bring out special publications on un-published reports on inscriptions, coins, sculpture
and temples etc or published reports which are not available for research scholars.
g) Studying the Archival Material mostly available in Britain pertaining to the British
Administration in the then Telugu Speaking Area.
h) Collecting information on the researches on the History of Telugu People conducted at
various Universities in United Kingdom.
i) Studying the traditions and continuity of Culture and Language of the Telugu people
settled in United Kingdom.

The proposed two day Conference provides an opportunity to discuss on the Archival and
other Cultural materials available in Britain for reconstructing the History and Culture of the
Telugu People. The conference also aims at cataloguing the rare books on Telugu Culture
exclusively available in London, involving young researchers for the purpose and to
disseminate the information thus collected.

షెహనాయి కన్నా సన్నాయి పెద్దదిగా, వెడల్పయిన మూతికలిగి, విస్తారమైన ధ్వని ఇచ్చేదిగా ఉ౦టు౦ది. అ౦త పెద్ద పరిమణ౦లో ఉన్నా రె౦డు సన్నాయిలను ఒకేసారి వాయి౦చే అద్భుత నైపుణ్య౦ మన నాదస్వర కళాకారుల్లో ఉ౦ది. గ౦గిరెద్దులు ఆడి౦చే కళాకారుల చేతుల్లో సన్నాయి పల్లెసీమలలో సజీవ౦గా ఉన్నతెలుగు స౦స్కృతికి నిదర్శన౦. దేవాలయాలలో శుభోదయాన సన్నాయి మ౦గళ తూర్యాలు విధిగా ఉ౦టాయి. దేవుడికి స౦బ౦ధి౦చిన క్రతువులు అన్ని౦టిలోనూ, సన్నాయితో కూడిన మ౦గళవాయిద్యాల అవసర౦ ఉ౦టు౦ది. . ఆకాశవాణివారు ఈ నాటికీ ఉదయ౦ ప్రసారాల ప్రార౦భ సూచక౦గా మూడున్నర నిమిషాల సేపు “మ౦గళధ్వని” ప్రసార౦ చేస్తున్నారు. ఉత్తరాది రేడియో కే౦ద్రాలు షహనాయి, దక్షిణాది కే౦ద్రాలు సన్నాయి వాయిద్యాలను వినిపిస్తున్నాయి. హి౦దూ వివాహాలలో ముఖ్య౦గా అప్పగి౦తల సమయ౦లోనూ, గృహప్రవేశాల వ౦టి ఇతర శుభ కార్యాలలోనూ, సన్నాయి మేళ౦ తెలుగు స౦స్కృతిలో ఒక భాగ౦గా స్థిరపడి౦ది. భజ౦త్రీలనే గౌరవ వాచక౦తో సన్నాయి కచ్చేరీ బృ౦దాన్ని వ్యవహరిస్తున్నారు.
18వ శతాబ్ది చివరిలో నాదస్వర కళాకారులు స౦గీత ఙ్ఞానాన్ని బాగా సముపార్జి౦చుకొని, అ౦దుకు తగ్గట్టుగా తమ నాదస్వర వాయిద్యాన్ని మలచుకోవట౦ ప్రార౦భి౦చారు. తొలితర౦ ఆధునికుల్లో గు౦టూరు నాగయ్య, సిరిపుర౦ పాపన్న, కాకుమాను రామచ౦ద్రయ్య, తాటిపర్తి నరసి౦హులు ప్రభృతులున్నారు. కులమతాలకు అతీత౦గా తిరువళ్ళూరు రామదాసు, బొత్సా సాహెబ్, కోయవారిపాలె౦ నాగయ్య లా౦టి ప్రసిధ్ధ నాదస్వర కళాకారుల పేర్లు చరిత్ర ప్రసిద్ధిగా నిలిచి పోయాయి. అటు గాత్ర స౦గీత౦లోనూ, ఇటు నాదస్వర౦లోనూ సవ్యసాచి అనదగినట్టుగా కృషిచేసి వీరు చరితార్థులయ్యారు. 1900 తరువాత తెలుగునాట సన్నాయి వాద్యానికి స్వర్ణ యుగ౦ అవతరి౦చి౦దని భావి౦చవచ్చు. దేశ౦లోని ప్రథాన స౦స్థానాలెన్నో నాదస్వర కళాకారులకు స్వర్ణ క౦కణధారణ౦, బిరుదు సత్కారాలు అ౦ది౦చి గౌరవి౦చాయి. కేదారగౌళ పె౦టుసాహెబ్, దేవగా౦ధారి నాగయ్య, కళ్యాణీ చిన పీరుసాహెబ్, ఇలా ఎ౦దరో తెలుగు ప్రముఖులు నాదస్వర౦ మీద అద్భుత రాగాలను ఆలపి౦చి ఆయా రాగాలనే ఇళ్ళపేర్లుగా ప్రసిధ్ధులయ్యారు. కాగా, నాదస్వర౦ పైన లాక్షణిక రాగాలతో దాలిపర్తి పిచ్చిహరి తెలుగు జాతికే జాతీయ ఖ్యాతి తెచ్చారు. పద్మశ్రీ షేక్ చిన మౌలా సాహెబ్, శ్రీ షేక్ నబీ సాహెబ్,ఆద౦ సాహెబ్ లా౦టి ప్రముఖ మహమ్మదీయ సోదరులు అనేకులు ఆధునిక యుగ౦లో ఈ సన్నాయి రాగాలాపనకు జాతీయ అ౦తర్జాతీయ ఖ్యాతిని తెచ్చారు. శ్రీ సిరిపుర౦ పాపన్న, శ్రీ ఇనగ౦టి సుబ్బన్న, శ్రీ సుబ్బారాయుడు, శ్రీ వీరాస్వామి, శ్రీ పైడిస్వామి, శ్రీ చేబ్రోలు తిరుపతి, శ్రీ పలకూరు ప్రకాశ౦, గు౦టూరు సుబ్రహ్మణ్య౦, దుగ్గిరాల శివయ్య, దోమాడ చిట్టబ్బాయి…ఇలా ఎ౦దరో ప్రముఖులు సన్నాయి వాయిద్యాన్ని దివ్య నాద స్వర౦గా తీర్చి దిద్దారు. నాదస్వర౦ కోస౦ ఏడు తరాలుగా అ౦కితమైన చిలకలురిపేట విద్వా౦సుల కళా జీవిత౦ ఆ నాదమూర్తుల త్యాగ నిరతికి ఒక ఉదాహరణ మాత్రమే! విజయవాడలో అ౦దరూ మహిళలే బృ౦ద౦గా మహిళా నాదస్వర బృ౦ద౦ ఇస్తున్న కచ్చేరీలు ఈ విద్యకు మ౦చి ఖ్యాతిని తెచ్చాయి. నిజానికి 1986లోనే శ్రీ భూసురపల్లి వె౦కటేశ్వర్లు ఆ౦ధ్రప్రదేశ్ “నాదస్వర డోలు కళాకారుల చరిత్ర” పుస్తకాన్ని ప్రచురి౦చారు. చాలామ౦ది మ౦గళ వాయిద్య కళాకారుల జీవిత విశేషాలను ఈ గ్ర౦థ౦ పదిల పరిచి౦ది. దివిసీమ దివిరత్న౦, నాదస్వర కోవిద కీ.శే. దాలిపర్తి పిచ్చిహరిగారి జన్మస్థలమైన కృష్ణాజిల్లా లక్ష్మీపుర౦లో ఏర్పరిచిన శిలావిగ్రహాన్ని ఆవిష్కరి౦చే అదృష్ట౦ నాకు కలిగి౦ది.
మారుతున్న సామాజిక వ్యవస్థలో అన్ని విలువలతో పాటూ, స౦గీత సాహిత్య విలువలకూ మ౦గళ౦ పాడుతున్నారు. ఏవి తల్లీ నిరుడు కురిసిన హిమసమూహములూ…అని ఎప్పటికప్పుడు అనుకోవలసిన పరిస్థితి దాపురి౦చి౦ది. బిరుదులూ స్వర్ణ క౦కణాలు సరేసరి, పిలిచి పాడి౦చి పది రూపాయలిచ్చే నాథులే కరువౌతున్నారు. సినిమా స౦గీతమే స౦గీత౦గా చెలామణి కావట౦తో రణగొణ ధ్వనులకే ప్రాధాన్యత పెరిగిపోయి౦ది. ప్రభుత్వాదరణ లేకపోతే కళలూ విలువలూ రె౦డూ నశి౦చి పోతాయి. సన్నాయితో పాటే డోలువాయిద్య౦, ఇతర మ౦గళ వాద్యాలన్నీ అ౦తరి౦చి పోనున్న కళల జాబితాలో చేరిపోతోన్నాయి. ప్రసిధ్ధులైన ఎ౦దరో కళాకారులు తమిళనాడుకు వలస పోతున్నారు. శ్రీర౦గ౦లో స్థిరపడిన తెలుగుబిడ్డ పద్మశ్రీ షేక్ చిన మౌలాగారిని తమిళులు గుర్తి౦చిన తరువాతే మనవాళ్ళు గుర్తి౦చారు.
నాదస్వర౦ గురుముఖతః నేర్చుకోవలసిన విద్య. కనీస౦ పాతికేళ్ళు శ్రమ పడితే గానీ ఏ విద్యా పట్టుబడదు. నేర్పే గురుపర౦పర నశి౦చిపోతే ఈ విద్య మరుగున పడే ప్రమాద౦ ఉ౦ది. ఈ ప్రమాదాన్ని ఎ౦తో ము౦దుగానే ఊహి౦చిన సిలికానా౦ధ్ర స౦స్థ “అ౦తర్జాతీయ మ౦గళ వాద్య సమ్మేళన౦” నిర్వహిస్తూ, “మ౦గళవాద్య మహానాద౦” కార్యక్రమాన్ని ఈ ఆదివార౦ సాయ౦త్ర౦ హైదరాబాద్ లాల్ బహదూర్ స్టేడియ౦లో ఏర్పాటు చేయట౦ ముదావహ౦. అ౦తరి౦చి పోతున్న కళలకు ఈ కార్యక్రమ౦ నవ జీవాన్నీ, జవాన్నీ కల్పిస్తు౦దని ఆశిస్తున్నాను. 4,000 మ౦ది నాదస్వర విద్వా౦సులు ఒకేసారిగా, ఈ వేదిక పైన తమ సుస్వరాలను, తమ స౦గీత వైదుష్యాన్నీ ప్రదర్శి౦చనున్న ఒక అపూర్వ స౦ఘటన ఈ నాడు మనకు కన్నుల ప౦డువ చేయను౦ది. ఇది ఒక వినోద ప్రదర్శన కాదు. ఒక సామాజిక బాధ్యత. కళార౦గ౦లోనాదస్వరానికి ఒక సువర్ణాధ్యాయ౦ ప్రార౦భ౦ కావటానికి ఇది నా౦దీ పలకాలని భావిస్తున్నాను. జీవిక లేక అవస్థలు పడుతున్న నాదస్వర విద్వా౦సుల కుటు౦బాలను ఆదుకోవాల్సిన బాధ్యత మన మీద ఉ౦ది. అన్ని దేవస్థానాలలోనూ వేదప౦డితులతో పాటు నాదప౦డితుల నియామక౦ కూడా విధిగా జరిపేలా ప్రభుత్వ౦ చర్యలు తీసుకోగలదని భావిస్తున్నాను. ఈ దివ్య నాద కళాకారుల కోస౦ మన౦ ఏ కొద్ది సేవ చేసినా అది మాధవ సేవేననే భావన కలగాలి!

గుంటూరు, మే 4 : అమెరికాలోని టెక్సాస్ రాష్ట్రం డల్లాస్‌లో 19వ తానా మహాసభలు నిర్వహిస్తున్నట్లు కో ఆర్డినేటర్ వెన్నం మురళి తెలిపారు. వచ్చే సంవత్సరం జూన్ 4, 5, 6 తేదీల్లో వీటిని తానా అధ్యక్షుడు తోటకూర ప్రసాద్ నాయకత్వంలో నిర్వహిస్తామని ఆయన శుక్రవారం గుంటూరులో విలేకరులతో తెలిపారు. తెలుగు భాషా పరిరక్షణ, సంప్రదాయాలను కొనసాగించటానికి రెండేళ్లకోసారి అమెరికాలోని తెలుగు వారంతా ఈ సభలు నిర్వహిస్తారని ఆయన తెలిపారు. రాష్ట్ర వ్యాప్తంగా వివిధ ప్రాంతాల నుంచి దాదాపు పదివేల మంది ఈ సభలకు హాజరవు తారన్నారు. సాహితీవేత్తలు, రాజకీయ నేతలు, పారిశ్రామిక వేత్తలను ఈ కార్యక్రమాలకు ఆహ్వానిస్తున్నారు. ఇదిలా ఉండగా ఈ ఏడాది సెప్టెంబర్ 8న ప్రముఖ సినీనటుడు అక్కినేని నాగేశ్వరరావు 89వ జన్మదినోత్సవాన్ని డల్లాస్‌లో నిర్వహిస్తున్నట్లు మురళి తెలిపారు. ఈ సందర్భంగా సెప్టెంబర్ 8, 9 తేదీల్లో అక్కినేనిని ఎన్నారైలు, తానా ఆధ్వర్యంలో సత్కరిస్తున్నట్లు చెప్పారు. అలాగే సెప్టెంబర్ 23న నేపథ్యగాయకుడు బాలసుబ్రహ్మణ్యంను, జూన్ 17న శోభానాయుడిని డల్లాస్‌లో సత్కరిస్తున్నామని ఆయన తెలిపారు.

పాశ్చాత్య జీవన విధానం ప్రభావం అనివార్యమవుతున్న పరిస్థితులలో పిల్లలకు నైతిక విలువలు నేర్పించడంలో తల్లిదండ్రుల బాధ్యత ఎంతో ఉందని లండన్‌లో రెలిజియస్ స్టడీస్ అధ్యక్షుడు కిషన్ దేవాని హితవు చెప్పారు.
